This policy applies to the iOS version of Brand Name Check, distributed via the App Store. If you are using the web version, please see the site-wide web privacy policy instead.

This Privacy Policy describes how zikimit ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with your use of the iOS app "Brand Name Check" ("the App").

1. Information We Collect

The App itself does not directly collect or store any personal information. However, the advertising service integrated into the App (Google AdMob) may collect the following information for the purpose of delivering optimized ads:

Advertising identifier (IDFA)
Device type and iOS version
Statistical information about app usage
Diagnostic data (such as crash reports and performance data)

In addition, the brand names and usernames you enter are combined with a domain ending and sent to third-party RDAP (Registration Data Access Protocol) servers in order to check domain availability — namely rdap.org (an IANA-bootstrap relay) and the relevant domain registry's own RDAP endpoint. Only the domain name being checked is sent; these queries are not stored or logged by zikimit. Social platform handles are not sent anywhere — those links simply open each platform's public profile page, where you check the handle yourself.

2. Advertising via Google AdMob

The App displays ads served by Google AdMob (Google LLC). AdMob and its partners may use device identifiers (such as the IDFA) and similar technologies to deliver, frequency-cap, and measure ads, and to detect invalid activity.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT). On iOS, before any tracking that uses the IDFA across apps and websites, the App requests your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do not grant permission, only non-personalized ads — based on context and coarse location — are shown.

Personalized vs. non-personalized ads. Depending on your consent and region, you may be shown either personalized ads (based on your interests) or non-personalized ads (based on the app content and your approximate location only). Where the App is made available in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, a consent message will be presented before personalized ads are shown, and you may withdraw or change your consent at any time.

How to opt out. You can stop ad personalization at any time:

On your device: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and turn off tracking for the App (or disable "Allow Apps to Request to Track").

Opting out does not remove ads entirely — it only stops them from being personalized to you.

AdMob is provided by Google and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Information

Information collected by the advertising service is used solely to deliver relevant ads to you. We do not sell or share this information with any third parties.

4. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not share your information with third parties except as required by law. Data related to ad delivery is handled in accordance with Google's terms of service.

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranty of any kind, express or implied. zikimit does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App, compatibility with all devices or iOS versions, or that defects will be corrected.

The App queries third-party RDAP servers and social platform URLs to check availability of domain names and handles. Results reflect availability at the time of the query only, may change at any time, and must not be relied upon as legal advice, trademark clearance, or a guarantee of availability. Always consult a qualified professional before making commercial naming or registration decisions.

Except in cases of intentional misconduct or gross negligence on the part of zikimit, and to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, zikimit shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or any other loss. This limitation applies only to damages caused by zikimit's ordinary (slight) negligence, and nothing here excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct or gross negligence.

Advertisements in the App are served by Google AdMob. zikimit does not endorse or take responsibility for the content of any advertisement displayed within the App.
